The status quo has failed us.

The pace of change in our world is increasing exponentially but sensemaking — a necessary tool to navigate these turbulent waters — is unseen, undervalued, and underdeveloped.

– Deborah Ancona, Michele Williams and Gisela Gerlach, MITSloan Management Review, Fall 2020

Josie Gibson established CATALYSTFX to address an urgent need for different thinking and responses to complex business, social, and environmental issues.

Josie runs The Catalyst Network, a membership community of accomplished changemakers, and mentors graduates and creative entrepreneurs. She is a Senior Industry Fellow at RMIT University’s FORWARD Centre for Future Skills and Workforce Transformation in Australia, and is active in national and international initiatives exploring new work, community and economic models.

Josie co-created Australia’s first leadership index at an internationally ranked business school and established and helped to build successful businesses, including communities of chief financial officers, HR directors and senior women in global multinationals.

Josie is a counterintuitive thinker and somebody I regularly use as a thought partner. I’ve witnessed firsthand her skills in facilitating a different type of conversation – bringing the required ‘grit’ to challenge current thinking as well as posing a question no-one thought to ask. Josie’s design brain, her aptitude to listen deeply and to bravely call out the conversations organisations should be having make her a rare asset to any business or senior team genuine about approaching 21st century opportunities in a new way.
